This visa is for business visits and can be valid for up to 4 years and can be obtained by:
- staff (directors, executives or experts) from companies abroad, who are hoping to start a branch in Australia, partake in joint ventures, or fulfil a contract awarded to an offshore company;
- by staff for companies functioning within Australia;
- by employees who are granted visas under Labour; or
- through the Invest Australia Supported Skills agreement.
Many regional areas within Australia allow for special opportunities for employers who will function in regions of low population growth across Australia. These special opportunities include helping employers who may be incapable of meeting minimum skill and salary requirements for their personnel.
If the employer is located in a regional area, and the applicant possesses less than the average minimum skill or salary level, then the certifying body of the region can support the nomination by the employer of the applicant.
This is a temporary visa and should not be confused with the permanent business visas.
