There are two domestic worker visa subclasses:
- Visa Subclass 426 Diplomatic or consular
- Visa Subclass 427 Overseas executive
Domestic Worker (Diplomatic/consular) Visa
This visa is for domestic staff of diplomats and consular officials posted to Australia.
A letter of support is required from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, along with a copy of the employment agreement. Visa conditions apply, and the visa holder must not remain in Australia after the permanent departure of their employer.

Domestic Worker (Overseas Executive) Visa
Certain holders of 457 visas are eligible to bring in a domestic worker.
It provides the worker with a temporary stay of domestic personnel for temporary business entry applicants for extended periods.
An applicant for this visa must provide evidence that the admission of domestic staff is necessary for the proper discharge of the duties of the executive.
If the employer has been sponsored, sponsorship is necessary for the applicant. Where the employer was not sponsored, a satisfactory employment contract must be submitted.
