To apply for this visa, you MUST be under 45 years of age, MUST have a good command of the English language, MUST have the skills and qualifications necessary for the visa, and have relatives living in a designated area of Australia who is willing to sponsor you. If you don’t have a relative then you can apply under the Skilled Independent Visa to Australia. If you have a relative living in the City, then you can apply under the Skilled Australian Sponsored Visa to Australia.
All applicants for this visa will need to: meet the basic requirements; possess a nominated occupation on the skilled occupations list; and have a sponsor that lives in a designated area of Australia; and have an assurer. Currently, a sponsor can be your aunt, uncle, brother, sister, parent, cousin or grandparent who MUST be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia. An assurer is an individual who lives in Australia, and is a permanent resident or citizen of Australia, and who agrees to provide you with financial support. The visa sponsor need not be the assurer. This Australian visa is not points tested. This is a very important element of the visa.
