This visa is only for applications that involve a 50 point or 60 point occupation made within Australia. If you are a graduating student of an Australian tertiary education institute, and you have close family members living in a city area of Australia, you may be able to qualify for this visa. This is a permanent migration visa that permits you to remain permanently in Australia. Although the visa is points tested, additional points will be achieved owing to a family sponsorship.
If you do not have a sponsor then it’s best to apply for a Skilled Independent Overseas Student Visa.
If your sponsor resides in a regional area of Australia then it’s best to apply under the Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored Overseas Student Visa.
The Australian sponsor who is the brother, sister, parent, aunt or uncle of the applicant must be either an Australian permanent resident or an Australian citizen. If the Australian sponsor is a permanent resident, it is necessary for them to be financially independent and for them to have been in Australia for generally two years.
Remember, the most highly desirable occupations from Australia’s point of view receive 60 points, moderately desirable occupations receive 50 points, and all other desirable occupations receive 40 points. Your occupation MUST be on the list or you cannot apply for a Skilled Australian visa of this type
