The APEC Business Travel Card increases the simplicity of business travel, and gives business people prior clearance to APEC economies participating in the scheme.
The APEC card holders are entitled to short-term entry to participating economies, without the need to apply for visas or entry-permits separately each time they travel.
These cards are valid for three years, and entitle the user to multiple entries into these economies, and on arrival the user is entitled to quicker immigration processing through use of special entry and exit by means of fast-track ‘APEC’ lanes at major airports.
This APEC Business Travel Card was developed in order to help business people gain smoother access to economies and businesses within the Asia-Pacific region
There are currently 16 APEC economies within the ABTC scheme. These countries include:
- Australia
- Brunei Darussalam
- Chile
- Chinese Taipei
- Hong Kong (China)
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Republic of Korea
- New Zealand
- Papua New Guinea
- People's Republic of China
- The Philippines
- Malaysia
- Peru
- Singapore
- Thailand.
To be eligible for this card, you must be a business person who:
(1) Has a passport which is valid for one of the participating economies.
(2) Regularly embarks in trade and investment actions within the APEC region.
(3) Has not committed a criminal offence
